Sara Ali Khan addresses Shah Rukh Khan as ‘uncle’ at an event and sparks a Twitter debate

Not Shah Rukh Khan, but his fans faced a similar situation recently, and were not happy when their favourite star was referred to as ‘uncle’ by Sara Ali Khan. While the actress was apparently trolled for the same, many came out in support of her by saying there was nothing wrong even if she did so.

There have often been jokes about middle-aged persons’ dislike about being called uncle and aunty in several TV shows and movies. Even a youngster feels odd and a certain kind of 'unacceptable truth' to digest when kids call them ‘uncle’ or ‘aunty.’ Not Shah Rukh Khan, but his fans faced a similar situation recently, and were not happy when their favourite star was referred to as ‘uncle’ by Sara Ali Khan. While the actress was apparently trolled for the same, many came out in support of her by saying there was nothing wrong if she did so.

Sara at a recent awards show said that ‘Shah Rukh uncle’ used to host the show along with her father. Several fans of the 53-year-old were apparently not happy and trolled the actress.

Some wrote that a term like ‘sir’ would’ve been more respectlful and addressing him as ‘uncle’ on a personal level was fine, but not on a professional platform. On wrote she shouldn’t have done it at a time when they could ‘possibly’ be paired opposite each other.

However, many felt there was nothing wrong with the 'uncle' address. One Twitter wrote that it was how Sara might have called SRK years ago and nothing has changed since then. Many felt he is obviously an ‘uncle’, and it was same as how he’d address Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. While there was one who felt it was not a big deal as the ‘uncle’ himself might not have any problems in being called so and that she did the ‘great job’ since that’s how the Khans and Akshay Kumar should be called.
