Sara Ali Khan: The actor talks about her grandmother, Sharmila Tagore

Sharmila Tagore has had a stellar career in Bollywood for more than five decades now. Not only is she admired by her huge fan following, but even her granddaughter, Sara Ali Khan is in awe of her. Recently in an interview, Sara Ali Khan opened up about the bond she shares with her grandmother.

Sara revealed in the interview that she shares a very close bond with Sharmila Tagore. She said that she can talk about anything with her Daadi. She also added that their conversations are more about world affairs and political science than their make-up and hair. Talking about her admiration for Sharmila Tagore, Sara said that Sharmila Tagore is the epitome of grace and elegance. She further added that she has a lot of respect for her grandmother.

When Sara made her debut with Kedarnath, alongside Sushant Singh Rajput, Sharmila was so impressed with her performance that she reportedly ended up sending a text to Sara’s mom, Amrita Singh. This was their first interaction in 14 years. Discussing this text, Sara said that her Dadi is extremely proud and that she gets a lot of messages from people and Sharmila texting her mom was huge. She further added that as a character, they can bring together the audience but if as an individual, they can bring together their family even for 30 seconds, then that is really something.

Sara Ali Khan will be seen next in Imtiaz Ali's Aaj Kal alongside Kartik Aaryan. Aaj Kal is a sequel to Saif Ali Khan's  Love Aaj Kal. She is also currently shooting for David Dhawan’s Coolie no.1 remake with Varun Dhawan. The movie is slated to release next year.
