Shabana Azmi's 'Iftar' conversation with Pakistan senator Sherry Rehman about 'aloo samosas' will leave you in splits

Trust Shabana Azmi to come up with hilarious statements on social media. One such example was when she responded to Pakistan Senator Sherry Rehman who was talking about 'Post-Iftar remorse'.

Sherry Rehman, Parliamentary Leader PPP and Former Leader of Opposition in the Senate of Pakistan wrote on Twitter: '#RamzanConfessions: Very starchy first iftar record today. Got stuck at work. Spinach pakoras and favourite Aloo samosa plus a gulab jamun!  Now realisation dawning: Aisay nahi chalay ga! Sharing excesses in vain but faint hope that this will change behaviour . #Post-IftarRemorse'

To which, actress Shabana Azmi replied: "You dont look like you have ever eaten an aaloo samosa in your life !! You can see the effect on me when I take the very first bite 🙈🙈" [sic]

With the start of the holy month of Ramzan, devout Muslims prepare to observe intense dawn to dusk fasts.

The crescent moon was sighted on May 7 in various parts of India, thus marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramzan.

Ramzan, is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), according to Islamic belief.

During the month, the devout observe rigorus fasting for about 30 days and do not consume water or food from dawn to dusk. They eat Sehri (a pre-dawn meal) and break their day-long fast with 'Iftar' in the evening.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the fasting month of Ramzan. The festival is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

In other news, Shabana Azmi recently grabbed headlines when she addressed a crowd for CPI candidate Kanhaiya Kumar. Shabana along with lyricist and screen-writer Javed Akhtar were in Begusarai campaigning for Kanhaiya Kumar.
