The 'King Khan' of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan has changed the landscape of the industry with his incredible acting skills that he has portrayed since his debut in the industry. He made his Bollywood debut with Deewana where he was paired with Divya Bharti. The movie changed his life and he also won Filmfare Best Male Debut Award. The Badshah actor, last seen in Zero, has now completed 27 years in Bollywood. From starting with a negative role in one of his earlier films to being a popular superstar, here is a look at his journey in the industry.

Shah Rukh Khan's 27 years in Bollywood

It has been 27 years since the king of romance walked into Bollywood and even today, he has the audience go gaga for the characters he plays. Shah Rukh Khan, who was born and brought up in a middle-class family, has now become one of the highest-paid actors of the Bollywood industry. Shah Rukh Khan started his acting career with TV series ‘Fauji’ in 1989 and also featured in Circus and Umeed later on. He got his big break with the movie Deewana, he went on to achieve a Filmfare award for best actor for his work in Baazigar. Even for his first negative role in Darr, he was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role.

Shah Rukh Khan got the tag of ‘King Of Romance’ after he paired up with Kajol in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. The Kajol-Shah Rukh Khan duo has earned a permanent space in fans' hearts with movies like DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, and My Name is Khan. Even today, there are cinemas that still play DDLJ at least once a weekOver the years, Shah Rukh Khan has delivered a number of romantic films and Devdas and Mohabbatein have reportedly been among those very well received by the audience.

Shah Rukh Khan is always the one to try something new in the industry and recent movies like Ra.One, Fan and Zero can be the great examples of his experiments. During the three decades of journey in the industry, he has seen many ups and downs in his life. Not all experiments worked in his favour, for instance, IMDb rated Ra.One at 4.6/10. Shah Rukh Khan also recently tried his hand at lending his voice to animated movie characters with Mufasa from The Lion King

As per reports, Shah Rukh Khan has also been a helping hand for many NGOs and hospitals. Apart from being the most successful actor in terms of audience popularity and box-office collections, King Khan is also a dutiful family man. King Khan and his wife have often been cited as 'couple goals' by many of their fans on social media. His children, Aryan and Suhana, are reportedly planning to enter Bollywood as well.
