Aanand L Rai is all praises for Shah Rukh Khan and reportedly stated that working with the 'Ra. One' actor was sheer joy for the duo shared their love for cinema. As per reports, Rai called Shah Rukh a tremendous actor said that he is a dedicated artist who made the director work even harder. Reports suggest that Aanand discussed every shot with Shah Rukh before filming it. 

Stating that Shah Rukh Khan's role in 'Zero' is one of the toughest roles that he has played till date, captain of the ship, Aanand L Rai said that the film and Shah Rukh surprised him, as reported. Reportedly, Rai also said that when he recently saw the film, he wondered how he managed it. According to reports, Aanand L Rai said that 'Zero' was tough for him as a director but even more so for Shah Rukh for it is the toughest role he has played so far. As per reports, Rai also said that the Shah Rukh's role drained him physically and mentally and that the 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' actor could not afford to slip even for a second.

Shah Rukh Khan will be seen essaying the role of a vertically challenged person in the film. 'Zero' will mark the reunion of the 'Dilwale' actor with his 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' co-stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. While Katrina Kaif will be seen essaying the role of a troubled actress, Anushka Sharma will be essaying the role of a scientist. 'Zero' also stars Abhay Deol and R Madhavan in pivotal roles. Apart from these, 'Zero' will also feature Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Karisma Kapoor and late actress Sridevi in a special appearance. 

The much-awaited film is slated to hit screens on December 21. Initially, the film was expected to clash with Rohit Shetty's directorial 'Simmba' starring Ranveer Singh and debutante Sara Ali Khan. However, the clash was averted as Shetty and the makers of 'Simmba' decided to defer the release of their film by a week. 'Simmba' is now slated to release on December 28.
