Kabir Singh (Kabir Singh)

Kabir Singh is a romantic drama that revolves around the life of the titular character. Kabir Singh is a genius surgeon who has hostile intentions towards every other thing in his life. He falls in love with Preeti and they fall apart. Shahid Kapoor received praise for his performance. He also underwent a physical transformation to fit the look of a drunkard for this movie.

Haider (Haider)

The movie was based on Shakespeare's Hamlet. A young man named Haider returns to Jammu and Kashmir only to find that a violent insurgency has wreaked havoc upon the place. He seeks closure for the matters that involve his family. Shahid Kapoor played an exceptional role in this movie as he shaved his head and was outstanding as he played the role of a maniac. 

Udta Punjab (Tommy Singh)

Udta Punjab is the story of drug abuse in the state of Punjab and depicts how the youth are affected due to it. Shahid Kapoor played the role of a drug addict in the movie. Shahid's role as Tommy Singh created hype during the promotions of the movie.  

Kaminey (Charlie and Guddu)

Kaminey is the story of two identical twins who decide to end their misery and live a life of prosperity. This was a very important role for Shahid as he played identical twins Guddu and Charlie. The movie is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and earned around 70 crores at the box office.

Badmaash Company (Karan)

In this movie, Shahid plays the role of Karan, a young graduate belonging to the middle class, who comes up with a business plan to become rich. The actor hustles his way using his deceptive and sharp-witted characteristics. The movie also starred Anushka Sharma as his love interest.
