Sharmila Tagore On Sara Ali Khan 'She Is Never Tongue-Tied'

Bollywood veteran Sharmila Tagore, who turns 74 years old on Saturday, December 8, talked about her granddaughter Sara Ali Khan in a recent interview. The actress seems to be a proud grandmother as she said that she is very impressed by Sara and is excited about her Bollywood debut in 'Kedarnath'. 

The veteran actress further stated that she is not surprised by Sara's self-confidence and screen presence. She said that her granddaughter's confidence, humility, and charm had made her very happy and it is so heartwarming for her to see the way she turned out. Sharmila Tagore further stated that when she was asked about what she's doing in the film, as she holds a degree from Columbia University, she reportedly says that her education was for her growth as a person and not for a career.

The grandmother further revealed that the Sara is never tongue-tied and has an answer to everything.  In fact, she stated that she is proud of Sara for the way she stood up for Saif Ali Khan in Karan Johar's chat show 'Koffee with Karan'. 

Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan and former wife Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan was initially set to mark her debut with Rohit Shetty's ' Simmba'. However, she finally marked her debut with Abhishek Kapoor 's 'Kedarnath' and won the hearts of the audience with her splendid performance. She was featured opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead. The film was released on Friday, December 7. It narrates a heart-wrenching love story set against the backdrop of a catastrophic deluge that hit the Himalayan shrine in 2013. 'Kedarnath' is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Pragya Kapoor under the film production banners of RSVP and Guy in the Sky pictures.

She will be next seen in 'Simmba' which also stars Ranveer Singh and Sonu Sood. The film is a remake of 2015 Telugu film 'Temper' and it narrates the story of a corrupted cop Simmba who enjoys being a corrupt cop and takes full advantage of its lifestyle until one day his loved ones are abused. He eventually finds himself transforming and is forced to choose a more righteous path. The film is produced by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions and is all set to hit the theatres on December 28, 2018.
