Shilpa Shetty and family in legal soup over an alleged Rs 21 Lakh loan, Read here

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, her sister Shamita and mother Sunanda have landed in a legal soup as the owner of an automobile agency, Parhad Amra claims that Shetty's late father had borrowed Rs 21 Lakh and was supposed to pay the amount to him, with interest in January 2017. 

However, Shilpa has denied all the allegations and stated that she will be up for hearing on January 29 at the Magistrate Court. As per reports in a leading daily, the moneylender claims that he shared a good relationship with Shetty's father and it was in July 2015 that he had provided him with the money for his business.

The report claims that the money lender paid the first instalment of Rs 8 lakh on August 20, 2015, from his automobile agency account, then a second one of Rs 5 lakh on September 5, 2015 from his personal account, and the third one of Rs 8 lakh on October 7, 2015 from his agency's account. All payments were made through cheques drawn in the favour of Surendra's firm ' Corgifts'.

The proprietor claims that Sunanda and his two daughters were his partners and aware of the transaction. But a few months before the set date, Surendra Shetty passed away in October 2016 and after his death, they denied that the loan was ever advanced, and refused to repay the amount. 

On the professional front, it has been a long time since the actress starred on the silver screen. She is married to Dubai based businessman Raj Kundra and also has a son with him.
