Several celebrities and renowned athletes supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Fit India Movement' initiative which was launched on Thursday in Delhi. PM Modi had announced this initiative in his monthly programme Mann Ki Baat on August 5. The initiative was launched on National Sports Day 2019 which commemorates the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand.
Shilpa Shetty, who is known for being a fitness junkie in and around Bollywood recently urged fans and netizens to come forward and take part in Prime Minister 'Fit India' movement. Stating that in today's fast-paced life, being fit is as important as breathing, Shilpa requested all to take a pledge and make fitness a way of life.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched the 'Fit India Movement' and said that health consciousness is the key to good health. Speaking at Indira Gandhi Stadium in Delhi, Prime Minister urged all to make it a mass movement similar to that of Swaach Bharat Mission.
At a colorful ceremony, which included a presentation of India's indigenous martial art forms, dances and sports, the Prime Minister said that technology has contributed to a sedentary lifestyle but fitness has been an integral part of India's culture. He said that the initiative is the need of the hour and will take the country towards a healthier future.
Shilpa Shetty is all set to make her comeback into Bollywood after thirteen long years. Ending her sabbatical, in an Instagram post, the actress stated that she will be seen alongside Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia in 'Nikamma'. Shetty's last stint in Bollywood was 'Apne', that starred the Deol brothers.
Sharing the news of her return with the audience and other celebrities, the actress stated that the full and final cast is yet to be decided and that she is extremely excited for the venture. Speaking about her role in the film to an entertainment portal, Shilpa said that it is a role that she has never attempted before and she can't wait for the audience to see her new 'avatar'.
