Shirish Kunder is one of the names in the film industry who has not been in the limelight for quite some time. However, his political standings against the current regime more often than not have generated some interest. Now, it looks like the filmmaker has taken the philosophical route.

Taking to the microblogging platform Twitter, Sirish tweeted saying that when those who are honest are punished for being so, then they learn to lie.     Here's what he wrote on his handle, "When you're punished for honesty, you learn to lie." After this cryptic tweet, netizens and fellow celebrities seem to have taken a more philosophical meaning to it as each connected with the lines in some way.

Famous Badminton player Jwala Gutta took his words to her own experience and said that she's, "Still not learning". Another radio jockey agreed with his statement and said that the fright of being punished is the cause of the lie. Netizens too mostly agreed to what the filmmaker has to say and added their own anecdotes to it with observations like a politician is someone who has learnt to lie. Another one feels that if one is punished for the lie then it's good parenting. Take a look at some of the comments down below:

However, Sirish did not stop with that one tweet. He again wrote on the microblogging platform that, "People may forgive you if their logic is challenged, but they will never forgive you if their blind faith is challenged." We wonder, who is this referring to, for people are drawing religious inferences from his statement.
