Amitabh Bachchan and Shoojit Sircar had ups and downs in their professional collaborations, but their personal equation has been as strong over the years. Their recent Twitter bonding over the scientific analysis of singing was another proof of it.
Shoojit recently advocated the act of singing by breaking down its scientific benefits. The ‘Vicky Donor’ director tweeted, “Everyone please Sing. Sing freely.. Sing loud.. Sing for yourself.. Singing releases stored muscle tension and decreases the levels of a stress hormone called cortisol in your blood stream."
Big B, who has sent his voice to several songs over the years, found it hard to believe and quipped that despite singing for 50 years in the industry, cortisol’s ‘sol’ also didn’t reduce, forget about the ‘cor ti’.
While the response was trademark Big B, a netizen got reminded of Shoojit and Big B’s first collaboration ‘Shoebite’, which has been reportedly completed many years ago, but is yet to see the light of the day over issues between the producers. The veteran, like the Twitter user, pleaded for its release and called it a ‘great story.’
The duo had bounced back from the setback of 'Shoebite' with the critically acclaimed and commercially successful ‘Piku’ and ‘Pink’ (Shoojit was creative producer). The latter’s lead star Taapsee also joined in the singing discussion. The actress joked about her own singing skills, “Sir but what about cortisol of people around ???? which will burn out if I sing!”
And Shoojit had a solution for it, “Cover your ears and SING”
