  • The singer has now started doing independent music

Singer Shaan, who has had entertained the audience with his magical voice since the early 2000s with hit songs like 'Chand Sifarish', 'Kuch Kam' and 'Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh'   has not been heard as often as he used to. The singer said that the primary reason for his absence from the Bollywood music scene is the fact that the newer generation has taken over the industry, leaving fewer opportunities for senior artistes like him. The 'Bum Bum Bole' singer said that he was disheartened when he stopped getting as many work as he used to get once.

The singer said, "From 2010 to 2013-14, I was not able to understand what was happening. Why I was not getting the work that I was getting earlier? What did I do wrong? I couldn't find the answer but I figured that it happens with everyone as new people come in and they take over. But now, my belief in my own singing has grown. I feel I am a better singer today. I have worked on my shortcomings. I am working hard and proud of myself."

However, the singer has overcome the phase and has come in terms of changing times. He has started doing his own independent music, ad films and collaborations. "With film songs, the A-league stuff is not happening. I have been open to the idea of singing for newer production houses. Many advised me to not take this up and said it will affect your career and that I should be connecting to the top guys. I feel, I was new at some point of a time in my life and somebody did give me an opportunity," he said.

The singer now feels that doing a live concert is the best way to connect with fans. He feels that if one can entertain through live performances then the sky is the limit as people enjoy it. Meanwhile, Shaan and his son Shubh reprised the popular 'DuckTales' track in Hindi. He remembers watching this show when he was in his 20s. "The jingle came to me quickly as somewhere it was in my head. It is an iconic show, I couldn't have said no to this offer."

Shaan says the track complements the sense of adventure and excitement of the show and it was fun recording the Hindi version especially because he shared the experience with his son.
