Songs in Bollywood have featured controversial lyrics over the years, and many have spoken up against it in recent years. Aamir Khan had expressed regret over Khambe jaisi khadi hai lyrics in a song, while ‘Tandoori Murgi’ line in Fevicol Se song was bashed by Shabana Azmi. Recently, Raveena Tandon was also questioned by a user for the lyrics Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast. Similarly, netizens recently lashed out at Akshay Kumar’s comments from a throwback interview when he said he liked his heroines to be fuller by using the words ‘hari bhari’ over ‘chusa hua aam.’ Sonakshi Sinha defended her co-star of many films over the comment, saying that Akshay’s comments were in her support after she was body-shamed in the initial stage of her career. Sonakshi Sinha also hit back at trolls, asking them to utlise their time better and not make an issue out of ‘stupid’ things.

Sonakshi Sinha came out in support of Akshay Kumar in a recent interview with a daily. She said that Akshay’s comments at that time were in defense of her after she was body-shamed for her weight, despite shedding 30 kilos for her debut in Dabangg. The Noor star then stated that Akshay Kumar did not make a comment about a ‘random person’, but someone who is a friend and someone who he shared a great working equation with. Sonakshi Sinha added that Akshay Kumar was being a ‘gentleman’ when he defended her and that there was no intention to objectify anyone. She continued that since she was being objectified, as per the trolls, and she didn’t have a problem with it, no one else should be offended with it either. The actor said that the trolls have ‘nothing better to do in life’, and they shouldn’t be creating a controversy by ‘digging up stupid things’
