Sonakshi Sinha's lastest release 'Khandaani Shafakhana' starring Varun Sharma, Badshah and Annu Kapoor in lead roles has hit the theatres. The actress plays a young woman, named Baby Bedi in the film, who inherits a sex clinic run by her uncle. She decides to use this opportunity to bring about a change in society.
The actress who has made a huge transformation from her last role of Satya in 'Kalank' to Baby Bedi in 'Khandaani Shafakhana' revealed that she initially had second thoughts about doing the movie.
"First of all it was an amazing script, a well-written script about such a relevant topic and when I read it I felt that I should play the character of Baby Bedi. Initially, I had second thoughts about the film as I have never done a role like this, I was shocked when I was approached for this film as I have always done family-oriented roles so far".
When asked if 'Baby Bedi' is the most challenging role she has played so far, Sonakshi recalled her character from Akira and said it was the toughest.
"There were certain tough scenes in 'Khandaani Shafakhana' which I had to do or I had to speak certain tough lines, but I think the toughest role so far for me is 'Akira' because it was physically very taxing on me with so many action sequences. "
Varun Sharma who is known for his crackling comic timing in the 'Fukrey' franchise is playing Sonakshi's brother in the film. During the interview, Sonakshi opened up about their chemistry on sets.
Talking about the same, she said, "I didn't know Varun before this film but we bonded so well on the sets and sometimes we were unable to shoot a certain scene as we couldn't stop laughing. He was completely into his character and has surely done a fabulous job in the film. I am so proud of him".
'Khandaani Shafakhana' marks the acting debut of rapper Badshah in Bollywood. Sonakshi who has earlier collaborated with Badshah for 'Noor' revealed that he had to portray himself in the film and hence he didn't require any acting tips.
The 2-hour-16-minute-long 'Khandaani Shafakhana' is directed by Shilpi Dasgupta.
Post 'Khandaani Shafakhana', Sonakshi will be seen in 'Mission Mangal' where she is a part of an ensemble cast that includes Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menen and Akshay Kumar.
