Sonali Bendre back on the sets amid cancer battle, says 'It is a surreal feeling'

Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre, who took a break from her career owing to health issues is finally all set to return to the screen. The actress who spent months in New York battling cancer reportedly shot a brand campaign, directed by filmmaker Shoojit Sircar.

Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre, who took a break from her career owing to health issues is finally all set to return to the screen. The actress who spent months in New York battling cancer reportedly shot a brand campaign, directed by filmmaker Shoojit Sircar. Although details of the ad are currently under wraps, Bendre who was overwhelmed to have returned to face the cameras penned a long note on social media describing the feeling as 'surreal'. 

She shared a photograph of herself on Instagram where she can be seen donning a casual white dress, a sleeveless denim jacket and a pair of funky sneakers. She can be seen sitting in a staircase with motivational quotes printed on it.  as she poses for the camera. She also shared a video where she can be seen getting down from her car and entering the vanity.

She captioned the post saying, "Being back on a set after a major sabbatical – one that has been testing in many ways on so many levels – is a surreal feeling. After all this, I sort of feel an additional sense of purpose and meaning and I'm so grateful to be back in action. I don’t think words would do justice to how beautiful it feels to be back at work...to face the camera again and portray the range of emotions required. Given that my emotions have been running high for the last couple of months, it feels good to give into the emotions that the job requires. It's just the kind of day that helps me #SwitchOnTheSunshine#OneDayAtATime❤"

Sonali Bendre has had quite a rough 2018, as she was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer during that time. But, the actress remained strong and fought her battles, regardless of all odds. She returned to India after several months of treatment in New York in December. Her positivity and undying spirit in such a trying situation have influenced many on the internet. She posts happy pictures of herself with long inspirational messages to keep her fans updated about her health with regular posts. She has been visited by many of her Bollywood colleagues including Priyanka Chopra and Anupam Kher among others.
