'Stree' Mints Over Rs. 70 Crores At The Box Office

'Stree' collects Rs.72.41 crores so far

Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Stree' continues to create magic at the box office as the film sees an upward growth in its second Saturday. The film has reportedly collected Rs.72.41 crores so far. This horror-comedy seems to have hit the right chord with the audience and critics alike.

Despite a non-holiday film, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Stree' has performed beyond expectations. With a great word of mouth publicity the film is going strong at the box office with audiences flocking to the theatres to watch this horror comedy-drama. After collecting Rs. 60.39 crores in its first week, 'Stree' on Friday collected Rs. 4.39 crores and showing a tremendous growth, collected Rs.7.63 crores on Saturday taking its total collection to Rs. 72.41 crores.

'Stree' seems to be eyeing Rs.100 crore club. 'Stree' that saw Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor pair up for the first time released on August 31 along with 'Yamla Pagala Deewana Phir Se' that packed the Deol punch with veteran actor Dharmendra sharing screen space along with his two sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. The makers who claimed that the film is based on the writers Raj & Dk's true experiences, themselves seem to have experienced some paranormal activities while shooting the film. Raj & DK who have directed 'Go Goa Gone' (2013) shared their real-life experience from where the story of 'Stree' originated.


'Stree' is set in a small-town called Chanderi, where people have a belief that a mysterious woman comes and abducts men leaving behind their clothes. Delivering laughs even in such a gritty situation as the film's tagline goes, 'Mard Ko Dard Hoga', 'Stree' has managed to strike the right chord at the box office.
'Stree' also starred Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Vijay Raaz.
