After releasing a sting tape on BJP leader Raj Purohit, revealing the political motive behind violence and months-long unrest over the ‘Padmaavat’ controversy, Republic TV has stung the Gurugram BJP media cell chief. In the sting tape, Jitendra Singh Chauhan can be seen admitting attacking Sanjay Leela Bhansali last year. The sting tape reveals the nexus between the BJP leader and Karni Sena.

"'Let me tell you one thing, one and a half years ago, when Sanjay Leela Bhansali was shooting his film Padmavati in the Jaipur Fort, a news channel showed several reports from the sets of the film. When they played the news, Karni Sena members under the leadership of Mahipal Singh Makrana went to meet Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Then, we manhandled him and beat him up," said Chauhan.

"We told him if you disrespect our mother then we will not allow you to shoot the film. Sanjay Leela Bhansali told us that he would not shoot the film and if he shot the film he would invite us. He promised us and also gave it in writing. But after that he didn't invite the Rajput community members,  historians, intellectuals or the members of the Karni Sena. You promised us and then you went to Gujarat and Maharashtra to complete the film. This is wrong." he added.
