  • Sunny Leone's performance in Bengaluru was opposed by pro-Kannada activists
  • However, they later agreed to let the actress perform, although they have a condition

Bollywood actress Sunny Leone will be performing her first live concert in Bengaluru in November. However, few pro-Kannada activists seem to be already come out against the event.

Reportedly, after the event was announced, few Kannada activists declared that they will hold a massive protest across the state demanding a total ban on the actress. However, later on, they agreed to let the actress perform, although they had a condition.

Reportedly, Praveen Shetty, the chief of  Karnataka Rakshana Vedike told a news portal that they are not opposed to Sunny Leone performing in the city. They reportedly said that she is free to come to the city to perform, but they put up a condition that Kannada should be promoted.

This is not the first time, the ‘Ragini MMS 2’ actress has faced this situation. Last year, pro-Kannada and other fringe groups in Karnataka opposed Sunny’s New Year night performance in Bengaluru accusing her of being a potential threat to Kannada culture.

The opposition was also backed by the government when the then  Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy directed the police department to stop the actor from performing in the city. Back then, Reddy had said, “They have taken permission to conduct a programme. Let them hold cultural activities like music, or Bharatanatyam not this (Sunny’s performance).” The event had to be cancelled after Sunny leone backed off owing to the controversy.

Now, a year later the same organisers have scheduled Sunny Leone’s performance in the city at the same venue. The event will take place on November 3 at the White Orchid hotel in Manyata Tech Park on Outer Ring Road. The organizers have revealed that the concert will be mainly led by musician Raghu Dixit’s performance and Sunny will give three dance performances, including one on a Kannada song.

Meanwhile, the actress is in a very happy space in both her professional and personal life. In July, Sunny Leone had released the first season of her biopic web series, in which she plays herself. She has narrated her life story through two seasons of the series, from her teenage years to entering the porn industry to landing in Bollywood.

The second season of the web series released on September 18. Leone had recreated her marriage with Daniel Weber on screen and released the wedding music video ahead of the release on season 2.
