Surveen Chawla talks about post-partum depression and losing weight

Surveen Chawla delivered a baby girl six months ago and opened up about postpartum depression and her weight loss journey. Read ahead to know what she said

Surveen Chawla is an Indian actor who has acted in many TV serials before she got her to break into movies. She made her debut in the film industry with the movie, Hate Story 2- an erotic revenge film. After that, she acted in many films like Parched where her character was praised by the audience. Surveen Chawla has also acted in some Punjabi films like Taur Mittran Di, Saadi Love Story, Singh vs Kaur, Lucky Di Unlucky Story and Disco Singh (2014). She secretly got married to Akshay Thakker in 2015 in Italy. Her marriage was revealed two years later.

Surveen Chawla speaks about post-partum depression

Surveen Chawla delivered a baby girl six months ago and has opened up about the postpartum depression and how she managed to get back in shape.  Since she always believed in living a healthy lifestyle, she made it a point to follow a strict diet. She ate only home-cooked food and said that she, fortunately, did not crave outside meals. Surveen Chawla said she had put on 18 kilos during her pregnancy and now six months after her delivery, she has only five kgs to lose. The actor believes in living a healthy and holistic lifestyle. Surveen Chawla practices yoga and does cardio and sometimes both in a day.

During the months in which she carried her baby girl, she had heard a lot about post-partum depression. Post-partum depression is a type of depression that affects women after they give birth to a child. Reports claim that the actor had heard so much about postpartum depression that she made a conscious effort to evade it. Surveen Chawla believes she is expressive and could vent out her feelings. She also said that she is not diplomatic and is lucky to have been blessed with a partner who shares everything with her.

Speaking with experience, Surveen Chawla suggests other mothers that they should not repress themselves ad keep themselves emotionally stable. She also suggests them to be aware of what is going on with their bodies and their babies. Surveen Chawla herself was about it and took care to treat herself. Surveen Chawla added that she had days when she could not control her emotions and her emotions were all over the place but, she centred herself and shared everything with her husband Akshay Thakker. She also kept reminding herself that she was doing the best every day.
