Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednakar dedicate 'Saand Ki Aankh' to all mothers

During a recent interview, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednakar dedicated their upcoming film 'Saand Ki Aankh' to all the mothers of the world.

Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar's Saand Ki Aankh is all set to hit the theaters this Diwali. The film based on the world's oldest female sharpshooters has been making it up to the news ever since the film was announced. Recently, during an interview, the actor duo dedicated their upcoming film to all the mothers of the world. As per media reports, the duo feels that mothers give their whole lives to family and children and are an inspiration, given their selflessness.

"The movie is dedicated to all the mothers and women as they are our inspiration behind playing this role. I don't think our mothers have rejoiced even a single moment for themselves. So, it is a tribute to all the mothers," Taapsee Pannu reportedly told ANI.

In the film, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar can be seen essaying the role of Prakashi and Chandro Tomar, women who are double their age. However, talking about the film, Bhumi reportedly said they are the most cherished characters of their careers.

"It's an experience and role of a lifetime and is one of the most enriching experiences and the most cherished role of our careers," the actress said.

 

Bhumi Pednekar further added that it was life-changing to play the role of the shooter grannies. Her remarks come in the backdrop of controversy regarding casting young actors for characters who are double their age.

Saand Ki Aankh

Saand Ki Aankh is a biographical movie based on Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar -the octogenarians known as the world's oldest sharpshooters from Johri village, in Uttar Pradesh. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Saand Ki Aankh revolves around the two aged women who took up shooting at the age of 60 to encourage their daughters towards a bright future as they did not want their daughters to go through a lifetime of suppression. What unfolded was nothing short of miraculous, as they discovered their skill of being exceptional shooters. Despite all odds, they won 352 medals each in the course of their professional life as shooters. Saand Ki Aankh had also recently received praise from Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.

Besides, Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu, Saand Ki Aankh also stars Prakash Jha, Vineet Kumar, and Shaad Randhawa in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Anurag Kashyap and Nidhi Parmar and is scheduled to hit theatres on October 25, this year.
