Taapsee Pannu is garnering praises for her looks in her upcoming 'Saand Ki Aankh'.The actress will share screen space with Bhumi Pednekar. 'Saand Ki Aankh' is a real-life inspiring story of the world's oldest sharpshooters, Chandro and Prakashi fondly known as the "Revolver Dadis".
Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar have shared several behind the scenes video from the sets having fun and enjoying their look. Taapsee Pannu is portraying Prakashi in the Tushar Hiranandani-directed film, while Bhumi Pednekar is essaying the role of Chandro.
To experience the village life first hand Taapsee Pannu chose to stay with the dadi's in their original home in the interiors of UP. She felt that this experience was really special for her.
"It was the best experience for me so far. Living in Johri and spending time with these two ladies, who have strength and compassion was very inspiring. There were so many stories to hear from them and so much to learn," Taapsee Pannu said.
Usually, Bollywood actresses refrain playing elderly women roles due to stereotypes of the Hindi film industry but playing the role of a Dadi who is double the age was quite a task for Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi. In a media interaction, Taapsee Pannu revealed that instead of prosthetic makeup the makers used latex directly on face to bring authenticity to their looks.
"The latex which was used on our faces would burn out in the sun while shooting a single drop of sweat would ruin the look and then we had to redo the tiring makeup process which would take almost 3 hours.
"Once Bhumi's face was burnt due to the makeup. We really had an amazing time in shooting for the film but the makeup required for playing an aged woman was next-level of physical facial torture," Taapsee Pannu said.
Meanwhile, Taapsee Pannu's latest release 'Mission Mangal' has entered the 100 crore club in its first weekend thanks to the amazing concept and an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar along with Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya and Sharman Joshi.
The movie is based on the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), also called Mangalyaan, carried out by a team of scientists at ISRO. 'Saand Ki Aankh' is all set to release this Diwali.
