Taapsee Pannu Openly Tells Shoojit Sircar & Ronnie Lahiri That She Could Be Quite Good At Playing Vicky Kaushal's Character Udham Singh. You Won't Believe What Happened Next

On April 30, the first look of actor Vicky Kaushal from the film 'Sardar Udham Singh', a biopic on the legendary freedom fighter was released by the makers on social media.

Vicky Kaushal took to his Twitter handle and wrote: "Running my fingers thru the bullet holes at Jallianwala Baug, little did I know that 1 day I'd get a chance to bring alive the lesser known martyr, UDHAM SINGH. #SardarUdhamSingh @ShoojitSircar @ronnielahiri #SheelKumar @writish #ShubenduBhattacharya @filmsrisingsun @sardarudham" [sic]

Taking a hilarious dig, 'Badla' actress Taapsee Pannu who shares a close bond with the makers Ronnie Lahiri (the film producer) and Shoojit Sircar (director), wrote on her Twitter handle: "I kept telling @ShoojitSircar and @ronnielahiri I can be quite good at playing Udham Singh! But now that they have found @vickykaushal09 I think he will do a decent job 😜 
For all the favourites in one team I’m gonna wait for this 🤗" [sic]

Ronnie Lahiri who also produced Taapsee's hit film 'Pink' immediately commented: "He’s trying to match up to your standards 😜", to which Taapsee concluded by saying: "Tell him to keep trying ! He will reach somewhere close by 😆"

Director Shoojit Sircar also replied to Taapsee Pannu's comment saying: "🙏 looking forward to shooter dadi’s:))" [sic]

Coming back to Vicky Kaushal's look, in the picture, Kaushal can be seen sporting a vintage look with a long coat and a hat in his hand. In another picture, director Shoojit Sircar can be seen explaining a scene to the 'Manmarziyaan' actor.

Kaushal will be seen essaying the character of Udham Singh, a revolutionary belonging to the Ghadar Party, assassinated Michael Dwyer in revenge for Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar.

The film is penned by Ritesh Shah and Shubendu Bhattacharya and produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar. Helmed by Shoojit Sircar, it is scheduled to release in 2020.
