In the wake of the #MeToo movement, Tanushree Dutta has broken her silence on the 2008 incident that allegedly changed her look out of the film industry. In an interview with ANI, she opened up about the details of the incident calling out veteran actor Nana Patekar for his "aggressive behaviour" on the sets of her film 'Horn OK Please'. Recently, Nana Patekar broke his silence over the matter and denied the accusations stating that there were about 50 to 100 people on the sets of the film. He went on to add that he will see what can be done legally. Furthermore, Tanushree also told Republic TV, “Not only was I harassed, but the Manse party attacked me, there was a mob lynching kind of a situation that I had to face.”.
After the controversy broke out, various members of the Bollywood fraternity have reacted to Tanushree Dutta's allegations on Nana Patekar. The first to come out in the support of Dutta was Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar. Taking to Twitter he said "This thread is very telling. @janiceseq85 was there at the time of the incident being debated today. Even when #TanushreeDutta had career concerns to keep quiet 10 years ago she did not & her story hasn’t changed now. Her courage should be admired, not her intention questioned."

Bollywood actresses' such as Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Richa Chadha and Swara Bhasker have also extended their support towards Tanushree Dutta.
Taking to Twitter, the actress said "Agreed..the world needs to #BelieveSurviviors"
Calling the treatment as meted out to Tanushree as 'intimidation' the actress tweeted "It hurts to be #TanushreeDutta rn. To be alone, questioned. No woman wants publicity that opens the floodgates of trolling and insensitivity. What happened to her on set was intimidation. Her only fault was she didn’t back down-takes a special courage to be #TanushreeDutta"
The 'Mrs Funnybones' author also came out in the support of the former actress and said "Please read this thread before judging or shaming Tanushree Dutta. A working environment without harassment and intimidation is a fundamental right and by speaking up this brave woman helps pave the way towards that very goal for all of us!”
Other Bollywood celebrities who have reacted to the claims made by Tanushree Dutta include Mallika Dua, Masaba and Hansal Mehta. However, there are many other celebrities who have maintained a stoic silence over the issue. On Thursday, 27 September, at the trailer launch of 'Thugs of Hindostan', when Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan were asked about Tanushree Dutta's allegations about Nana Patekar, the actors dodged the question and failed to give a direct answer. As per reports, Amitabh Bachchan reacted stating that he is neither Tanushree nor Nana Patekar and so cannot comment about the issue.
On the other hand, Aamir Khan said: “whenever something like this does happen it is really a sad thing”. He also said it would be unfair on his part to comment on the controversy without knowing the details of the matter as reported PTI.
Whereas, when Bollywood actor Salman Khan was asked to comment about the same, he said that he was not aware of the issue.
