Tanushree Dutta Controversy: 'If He Had Sexually Harassed Tanushree Then I Will Not Call Him My Friend,' Says Minister Ramdas Athawale

Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta recently, in an interview, accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of alleged misconduct on the sets of the 2008 film 'Horn OK Pleassss'. The actress revealed that she was misbehaved with while shooting for a song and goons were called on to the set aftre she refused to do intimate steps with Nana Patekar. This has become a sensitive issue and a lot of people are speaking up about the same. 

Ramdas Athawale, the Minister for social justice and Empowerment too made his stand clear on the matter. He said, "Police should investigate Tanushree's allegation. Even though Nana is a good friend of mine and a good actor, but if he had sexually harassed Tanushree then I will not call him my friend and  action should be taken against him."

Well-known personalities like Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, and Sonam Kapoor among others took to their social media handles to raise their voice for Tanushree. On the other hand, renowned celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan to name a few avoided this topic when they were asked to comment. 

Recently, Aditya Thackeray, who is the President of Yuva Sena, a youth wing of Shiv Sena, raised his voice for her. He stated, "Women safety does matter for us and as a responsible citizen there should be investigation... police should answer this.''

Tanushree Dutta had also accused filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri of misbehaviour  on the sets of the film 'Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets'. She alleged that the filmmaker asked her to strip naked and dance , in order to give cues to the male actors. However, she said that Irrfan Khan and Suniel Shetty stepped up for her and refused the director to do so. 

Meanwhile, actress Tanushree Dutta who is currently under police protection after receiving multiple threats has received two legal notices and has her legal team in place to fight what she calls is not a 'news story anymore but a war countless millions are fighting'. Nana Patekar and Ganesh Acharya will be holding a press conference on October 8.
