There is a famous Sanskrit saying that describes a teacher above all Gods because a teacher guides one on the right path and helps in shaping one's personality. And some of the famous personalities that many look up to, credit their teachers for their success. On Teacher's Day, here's a list of some of the well-known personalities who thank their teachers for bringing out the star in them. 

1. BIPASHA BASU 

Bipasha Basu is one of the stars who credited her teachers for her confident demeanour. The actress has not always been so confident. And no it is not the success that made her what her fans admire her today. In her young days, Bipasha was a very shy girl who was not comfortable speaking in front of the public. And it was because of her teachers, that Bipasha Basu turned into a confident woman. As per reports, Bipasha admitted that it was her teachers who helped her overcome the fear of public speaking. Reportedly, Bipasha thanked her teachers and credited them for who she is today. Bipasha revealed that she was academically a good student, but her personality developed because of her teachers' encouragement who gave her responsibilities like being the head girl of the school and that's when her shyness of public speaking went away. 

2. SACHIN TENDULKAR 

The world knows him as the God of cricket, but the man behind making Sachin Tendulkar every cricket lovers favourite is his Cricket coach Ramakant Achrekar. It was Achrekar under whose training at Mumbai's Shivaji Park, Sachin Tendulkar learned the intricacies of the sport that gave him the stardom. Not just Sachin Tendulkar, but Vinod Kambli also trained under coach Ramakant Achrekar. 

3. BILL GATES 

Bill Gates is arguably one of the most successful men in the world. His success story is one to look up to. Very few know that the world's richest man and the founder of Microsoft is a college drop out. As per reports, Bill Gates admits that it is because of his Maths and Drama teachers in school that he became as successful as he is. 

4. OPRAH WINFREY

Talk show host, actress, producer and philanthropist, Oprah Winfrey is a multi-talented personality whose charming personality makes celebrities open up their heart on her talk show. As per reports, Oprah Winfrey credits her teacher Mrs.Duncan who helped Winfrey cultivate her love for learning and it is because of her that the talk show host doesn't feel afraid to be smart. 

5. BILL CLINTON

The former President of the United States of America, Bill Clinton is not just a good leader, but also has an artistic side to him. Bill Clinton is also a saxophone player for which he thanks his high school band director Virgil Spurlin who instilled the confidence in Clinton to achieve what he wants if he learns to "organise and run things".
