'Thackeray', the Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer which released on January 25 has already fallen prey to online piracy. The notorious online piracy group Tamilrockers have struck yet again as the leaked the Abhijit Panse directorial in the morning itself as soon as it came out. 'Thackeray' has now become the latest film to fall prey to this group.
Tamilrockers has leaked multiple regional films in Tamil and Telugu as well as Bollywood films. In fact, even Hollywood films were not safe from the piracy group. While Rajinikanth's 'Petta' was the film that was hit in the regional market, 'The Accidental Prime Minister' and later on Vicky Kaushal's 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' was the Hindi films that got affected by Tamilrockers.
In spite of innovative efforts from the Uri team to curb online piracy, they could not hold off the menace for long. In a video released by them on torrents, Vicky and Yami had even given a special message as they requested people to not watch the illegal versions of the film.
Meanwhile, coming back to 'Thackeray' it has received a generally positive rating from critics and netizens alike. The biggest takeaway for most people has been the stellar performance of Nawazuddin Siddiqui who seems to have outdone himself and broken the glass ceiling when it comes to stepping in the shoes of an actual person. Since the leader's life was exceptionally long, the film is set in two parts. Take a look at some of the reviews on the film here:
