Kangana Ranaut is all set to play the role of a legendary Tamil politician Jayalalithaa. The same was announced by the actress on the occasion of her 32nd birthday. In an official statement, Ranaut stated that she has begun prepping for her role and that she will learn Tamil in order to understand the character better after she is done with her work commitments related to 'Panga' and 'Mental Hai Kya'.

This will also be the first time where a film from the South, will see a Bollywood actor take the lead. After the success of 'Manikarnika', the actress revealed that she will be starting work on her biopic, but later reports suggested that the Jayalalithaa biopic was offered to her and she thought that was too good an opportunity to let go off.
