Amidst controversies, the much anticipated political drama 'The Accidental Prime Minister' premiered on Friday, January 11 and netizens have already started reviewing the same. The film which is based on former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh traces his journey throughout the time he was in power. Veteran actor Anupam Kher has taken up the role in the upcoming venture and has astonished the fans with his resemblance with the former PM.
Viewers seem to be divided about the film, as it has received mixed reviews from the netizens. While many of them praised Anupam Kher for his outstanding performance, a lot of them complained that the film did not have any proper climax.

'The Accidental Prime Minister' is established on a book of the same title written by former media advisor to Dr Manmohan Singh, Sanjay Baru, who claimed that a significant amount of power of the PMO was wielded by then Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
The film has been making headlines ever since the first poster was released. Anupam Kher's striking resemblance to Manmohan Singh has become a talking point. Earlier a few snippets and videos of Anupam Kher were doing the rounds, where his mannerisms and postures were also seen to be exactly like the former PM and fans were much impressed by his perfection.
Besides Anupam Kher, the film also stars Suzanne Bernert as Sonia Gandhi, Aahana Kumra as Priyanka Gandhi and Arjun Mathur as Rahul Gandhi. The movie is helmed by debutant director Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and is scheduled to release on January 11, 2019.
