'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' actress Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel praised Deepika Padukone for ‘Chhapaak’ and claims to be its ‘biggest cheerleader’

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone unveiled her first look from her upcoming film ‘Chhapaak’ on Monday, March 25. The film, which is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, made headlines immediately for the ’Padmaavat' star's amazing transformation, and netizens praised her and conveyed their good wishes as the film goes on floors the same day. 

Deepika while announcing the beginning of the shooting revealed that the character 'Malti' she is playing will 'stay with her forever'. In a heartfelt post, she wrote, "A character that will stay with me forever...#Malti Shoot begins today!#Chhapaak Releasing-10th January 2020. @meghnagulzar @foxstarhindi @masseysahib"

Deepika was flooded with praise for ‘being brave’ to ‘accept such an unconventional role’ and netizens called it a ‘great subject’, ‘legendary movie’ that brings attention and helps to change the mindset of the society. They described it as ‘inspiring’, ‘emotional’, ‘incredibly done’, ‘beautiful and powerful', and 'heart-stopping amazing’. In fact, several A-listers from Bollywood including Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, and Rajkummar Rao, among others also conveyed their best regards to Deepika for the project.

Now joining the bandwagon was 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' actress Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel who took to social media and lauded the upcoming venture in great words. Rangoli, who claimed to be an acid attack survivor herself pledged to be the biggest cheerleader of the project. Re-tweeting Deepika's post, she wrote, "No matter how unfair and unjust the world is we musn’t reflect what we hate, this is commendable on @deepikapadukone and @meghnagulzar part, being an acid attack survivor I pledge to be their biggest cheerleader #Chhapaak"

'Chhapaak' will be directed by renowned filmmaker Meghna Gulzar who has previously helmed critically acclaimed ventures like 'Raazi'. Deepika Padukone, who is debuting as a producer with the project, announced the making of the film on December 24, last year. Besides the actress, the film will also star 'Half Girlfriend' actor Vikrant Massey in the lead.
