The Cutest Things Smitten Ranveer Singh Has Said About Would-Be Wife Deepika Padukone

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s relationship was an ‘open secret’ in the last six years. The couple might have never ‘confirmed’ their affair, but they gave enough hints for people to believe that they are in love. One of the biggest signals to this was the manner in which Ranveer spoke about his ladylove in his interviews. From lauding her acting chops, making him a ‘changed man’ to confessing he wants to live 'happily ever after' with her, the ‘Simmba’ actor said a lot without saying the terms considered ‘official.’    

Falling short of words, awareness: Ranveer, in an interview, said there was some kind of ‘divine connection’ that he shared with Deepika, adding that he couldn’t explain it in words, but used ‘divinity’ to describe it.  The actor had also said that he didn’t know what happens when the two work together, he called it ‘unprecedented’.

Deepika's eyes and his eyes for her: On their working relationship, the 'Band Baaja Baraat' star said in an interview that he always knew that she will be ‘easy to work with’. He added that it was difficult to take one’s eyes off the screen when you are watching her on screen, like during shoots he said he has eyes only for Deepika when he looks on the monitor. While lauding her numerous achievements in another interview,  Ranveer had said there was a lot of learn from the 'Chennai Express' star which included the talent of looking effective without trying too hard. He pointed out the impact of her eyes in conveying what she feels, something he intended to grasp from her. The 'Dil Dhadakne Do' star felt he could ‘surrender’ to her during shooting to ‘connect’ by looking into her.

Fan of her acting chops: Ranveer also revealed in another interview about Deepika's golden phase as an actor courtesy 'one power-packed performance after the other', calling her back-to-back performances in ‘Tamasha’ and ‘Piku’ an ‘incredible feat’. The actor had called it a 'privilege' to work with her. He had further added how he could ‘trust her’ as he considers Deepika ‘one of the most generous actors’. Going gaga over her acting chops, Ranveer had spoken how he was inspired by the ‘performer’ Deepika and that he admires her as a person and individual. There was no doubt n his mind about Deepika being 'the No 1 actress' in Bollywood, who has even entered Hollywood now.

Made him a 'changed man': Ranveer in an interview stated how he ‘f***ked around a lot’ till the age of 26, but is enjoying his current phase of being in a relationship. Calling it the ‘best thing ever’, he had shared how everything about him was witnessing a change, including his thought process, priorities, mindset, outlook and worldview. In another interview, the actor said how he was a ‘changed’ man recently after being in too many insubstantial relationships in the past. In another interview, Ranveer said that his ‘outlook’ has changed in the last three years and he has started believing in monogamy. And that his views have changed from finding marriage ‘redundant’ to believing in it. Ranveer also said that the 'best thing' is in being an ‘honourable family man.’ 

Deepika's hardships are hard for Ranveer too: Deepika’s battle with depression is well-known and it was hard for Ranveer to know about it. The actor said in an interview how he broke down hearing her story on a channel. He lauded her for her ‘mental and emotional fortitude’ to open up on something that has a large stigma associated with it. The 'Gully Boy' star also said how Deepika has ‘won him over’ with her courage on the issue. Moreover, when fringe outfits had gone all out against Deepika, announcing a bounty on her nose and head of crores, during the ‘Padmaavat’ row, he was furious. Ranveer said in a media interaction how he was angry and wanted to act out, but he couldn’t do because was instructed to refrain from it.

Living 'happily ever after' with Deepika: On marriage, Ranveer had in an interview two years ago said how he thought about marriage and being family man held true for him and that it was natural for him to think so as he was 31 then. The actor also said marriage is on his mind despite being consumed by work now. In another interview, he revealed that he had more ‘special plans’ to propose to his girlfriend instead of the city of love, Paris. Ranveer had also said how he wants to survive and live to see a ‘happy ending’ and live together a ‘happily ever after life’ with Deepika. 

The couple is set to take another important step towards 'happily ever after' by tying the knot on November 14 and 15.
