Shahid and Mira Kapoor recently welcomed their second child Zain Kapoor on September 5, 2018, in Mumbai. The actor will next be seen on the silver screen in the much-awaited Shree Narayan Singh directorial titled, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is slated to release on September 21. Starring Shraddha Kapoor, this film is based on the age-old crime of stealing electricity, which is widely practised in several parts of India. And while the cast and crew of ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ are currently on a promotional spree, the lead actor Shahid Kapoor seems to be missing from the promotional events.

On Wednesday, the ‘Padmaavat’ actor took to Twitter to state why he has been absent from the promotional events for his upcoming flick.

He tweeted, “The last few days have been tough. Misha running very high fever and Zain just came home. Have had to miss some promotions. Just 9 days to go for Batti Gul meter chalu to release but being a parent is above all else. Hope to resume promotions very soon.”

Shahid Kapoor was spotted leaving the hospital with wife Mira, daughter Misha and their newborn baby boy Zain. The couple tied the knot in 2015 and despite his work schedule the actor is always seen spending quality time with his family. Recently, the 'Haider' star took to Twitter to thank his wife's gynaecologist. In a heartfelt post, he wrote, ‘Thank you Dr Kiran Coelho. For being just the best’

On April 20, Shahid Kapoor had announced that he and his wife Mira Rajput are expecting their second child. Shahid had taken to Instagram to post a picture of their two-year-old baby girl Misha, next to balloons drawn on the ground alongside the word 'Big sister'! The picture was captioned with a heart emoji.
