The Lesser Known Controversies Surrounding Emraan Hashmi

Actor Emraan Hashmi made his debut in Bollywood with the 'Footpath' which released in 2013, alongside Aftab Shivdasani and Bipasha Basu. He came to prominence in Bollywood with his acting but was also labeled as a 'serial kisser' owing to the bold films that he opted for. The actor was last seen in 'Baadshaho' which released in 2017, alongside Ajay Devgn. He has begun shooting for his next film 'Cheat India' and recently Netflix announced him as their male lead for their upcoming Indian Original series 'Bard of Blood'. The show is an adaptation of a book by the same name, authored by Bilal Siddiqi, who had also helped Hashmi pen down his book 'Kiss Of Life'. 

However, the actor too had his share of controversies. Here are some of the controversies wherein the 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai' actor was involved :

1. Emraan Hashmi accused builder of 'Religious discrimination'

Early in 2009, Emraan Hashmi had accused a housing complex in Bandra of religious discrimination. He claimed that the building refused to give him a NOC (No Objection Certificate) that is required to purchase a flat as he was a Muslim. Back then, Salman Khan who himself resides in Bandra said that he is doing this for publicity and also said that such incidents take place because of the person's personality and, not their religion. 

2. Emraan's fallout with Kriti Kharbanda 

Emraan Hashmi is known for his punctuality and does not entertain tardiness. In 2016, while promoting for Vikram Bhatt's 'Raaz-Reboot' the actor lost his cool after his co-star Kriti Kharbhanda reached the venue 30 minutes late. It was Kriti Kharbanda's debut film and she managed to piss off the actor. Reportedly, Emraan Hashmi lashed out at his manager in front of the entire crew. However, what followed was a verbal fight with Emraan's manager and Kriti's team. Apparently, Emraan and Kriti have stopped talking to each other after the showdown that happened.

3. Emraan Hashmi's Controversial Remark on Aishwarya Rai, Imran Khan, and Aamir Khan

The 'Good Boy Bad Boy' actor was not spared from making a controversial statement on the infamous couch on Karan Johar's show 'Koffee With Karan'. While on the show with uncle and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Emraan Hashmi had termed Aishwarya Rai as 'plastic'. He even took a dig at the uncle-nephew pair of Aamir Khan and Imran Khan and called them boring and overrated respectively. 

Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi keeps his personal life private and is not seen much in public even with his wife Parveen Shahani and his eight-year-old child Ayaan Hashmi.
