'These Are My Gold Medals' Says Amitabh Bachchan On Gloves Gifted By Boxer Mary Kom

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan congratulated boxer Mary Kom for bagging the sixth gold medal in the World Boxing Championship.

Indian legendary boxer Mary Kom has done it once again. She bagged the sixth gold medal in the World Boxing Championship at the Indira Gandhi stadium in New Delhi. The sports star defeated Ukrainian opponent Hanna Okhota and the whole country has been singing her praises since. Several Bollywood celebs including her biopic starrer Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Ajay Devgn has congratulated the sports star.

Joining the bandwagon, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan also wished the Indian boxer. He took to Instagram and shared a picture with Mary Kom where both of them can be seen posing wearing golden boxing gloves. Celebrating Kom's victory, the actor captioned it saying, "YEESSSSSSSSSS !!"

Moreover, he has also shared pictures of Mary Kom signed boxing gloves on Twitter and captioned it saying, "T 3005 - MARY KOM .. what a huge honour you bring to the Country .. 6 times Gold medalist World Championship !! CONGRATULATIONS! I ever value your BOXING GLOVES that you gifted me ! they are MY gold medals !!"

Amitabh Bachchan, who is known for his philanthropic activities, recently made the headlines as he paid off the loans of farmers in Uttar Pradesh. The actor, who has been the face of several national-level social campaigns like the 'Polio eradication program' and the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', has reportedly helped around 1398 farmers in Uttar Pradesh to pay off their loans that amounted to over Rs 4.05 crores.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Bachchan who was recently featured in Vijay Krishna Acharya's 'Thugs of Hindostan' and has three films in the pipeline which include 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy', 'Badla' and 'Brahmastra'. All the three films are scheduled to release in 2019.
