The much-anticipated decoit drama 'Sonchiriya' is all set to hit the theatres on March 1. The film which narrates an intriguing and gripping tale of dacoits features Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana in the lead roles.

However, the film's release seems to be in trouble as a group of people, who claim to be social workers have filed a complaint against the upcoming film. The group alleges that the venture shows guns and violence which in turn is affecting the image of Chambal. The registered notice has been sent through an organisation named 'Shiksha Mitra Foundation' and the social workers have asked a few dialogues of the film such as 'Yaha pe dekhne ke liye bahut kuch hai par kya aap dekh payenge' (There are a lot of things to see here, but will you be able to see it?) be changed.

Further, they have also requested the court for a stay order on the film. The directors and actors of the film are yet to respond to the matter.

The letter sent by the 'Shiksha Mitra Foundation' against the release of the film 'Sonchiriya'; their makers and directors has been accessed by Republic TV.

Below is the registered notice sent by the organisation to the makers of the film:

The film is a rural crime drama set in the 1970s in the backdrop of a small town named 'Chambal' in Madhya Pradesh ruled and dominated by dacoits. Earlier, on December 7, last year, Sushant released the first official teaser of the action drama with a new poster from the film where he can be seen sitting in a dry land donning dacoits outfits. The films' trailer released eventually where multiple gangs were seen fighting to attain power and their on and off rebel with the local police. The cast dons fierce avatars in sync with the theme of the film with Sushant Singh Rajput in an unseen avatar.

Sushant Singh Rajput who is known for his versatility for the first time will be taking up such a role and from the trailer, his performance looks promising. In fact, this is going to be the first time Sushant and Bhumi will be starring together in a film. The flick is directed by 'Udta Punjab' fame Abhishek Chaubey and will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of RSVP.
