The story of Kesari revolves around the 21 Sikhs who fought till their last breath for their motherland against 10,000 Afghan invaders. This battle is widely known in our history and is known as the Battle of Saragarhi which was fought between Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army and Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen on September 12, 1897.

For the film, Akshay will be essaying the role of Havildar Ishar Singh who takes part in the Battle of Saragarhi. The much-anticipated film all set to release on March 21, 2019.
