The nepotism debate rocked Bollywood in 2017 and in the firing line was Karan Johar. However, we can't be thankful enough to him for giving the industry talented star kids like Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan and giving Sidharth Malhotra the perfect platform to kick-start his acting career. The filmmaker is now all set to introduce two new faces, Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria. While fans wait with bated breath for the second installment of Johar's 2012 film 'Student of The Year', we take a look at some of the similarities between the cast of both the films which are hard to miss. 

1. TWO STAR KIDS AND ONE COMMONER

While 'Student of the year' launched Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Alia Bhatt and David Dhawan's son Varun, it also gave the industry Sidharth Malhotra who paved his way into the industry sans any filmy background. Both Sidharth and Varun had worked as Assistant Directors on the Karan Johar directorial 'My Name Is Khan' (2010). Similarly, 'Student of the Year 2' stars Tara Sutaria who comes from a non-filmy background alongside two-star kids Tiger Shroff and Ananya Pandey. 'Student of the Year 1' fared well at the box office and was Sidharth Malhotra's debut movie. 

2. THE 19-YEAR-OLD DEBUTANT ACTRESSES

Co-incidentally like Ananya Pandey, Alia Bhatt too made her Bollywood debut at just 19 years of age. Ananya is already a common face in the industry's social circuit. She is the daughter of Chunky Pandey  Here is a look at Ananya snapped at various Bollywood parties.

3. THE 'K'ONNECTION

Alia Bhatt and Tara Sutaria share a 'k'onnection not only because they are both launched by Karan Johar but also because of Kareena Kapoor Khan.  While Alia on various occasions has expressed her admiration for Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tara and Kareena share the same Pilates instructor Namrata Purohit. Tara is beautiful and gracious and is said to have bagged the role after excelling at the auditions. Karan Johar is also known for being the father of Nepotism, and he is said to launch only star kids. 

4. ONE AMONG HUNDREDS

According to reports, Karan had auditioned over 400 hundred girls before he could zero in on Alia Bhatt for 'Student of The Year'. The filmmaker has now reportedly auditioned over 800 girls after which he finalised on Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey to play in the leads in 'Student of The Year 2'. The movie is much awaited and there was abuzz that Ishaan Khatter was to bag a role in the movie, but Karan Johar was aware of Tara and Ishaan's romance and hence decided against it,
