A visual you rarely see, some of the biggest Bollywood stars came together under one roof and rightly so as they met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an interactive session related to the film industry in Delhi on Thursday.
While the group picture and the selfie went viral immediately, almost all the stars took to Instagram to share the proud moment of their meeting with the Prime Minister.
Karan Johar, who was among the brains behind the meeting, wrote, “Powerful and timely conversations can bring about change and this was one of what we hope will become a regular conversation.” He called the meeting an ‘incredible opportunity’ and revealed how this ‘dialogue was towards how and what ways we can do’ towards nation-building.
The ‘Bombay Velvet’ actor wrote when ‘the youngest country (in demography) joins hands with the largest movie industry in the world’ they can become a ‘force to reckon with.’ The filmmaker conveyed the celebrities’ desire to ‘inspire and ignite positive changes to a transformative India.’
KJo, on behalf of the film industry, expressed their gratitude to the PM for GST reduction in movie ticket prices and taking his time out. Thanking the PM, he wrote about the ‘incredible exchange of thoughts and ideas with the forces of the film fraternity and the honourable Prime Minister’. In a snap on his Instagram stories, he wrote how ‘United we stand.’
Varun Dhawan also shared a picture with the PM and called it an ‘honour’. In his caption, he wrote how he was ‘grateful’ to the PM for the reduction in GST as he felt it ‘will be a big boost to the economics of our film industry.’ He concluded hilariously by writing how he missed eye contact with the PM as he was looking into the camera.
Ekta Kapoor wrote about the ‘insightful’ meeting of the young delegation with the ‘visionary leader’ about merging ‘education and entertainment.’ The producer expressed how the ‘aura and the vision’ left her ‘overwhelmed’ and in another snap wrote how it was a ‘moment to remember.’
Sidharth Malhotra thanked the PM for 'hearing them out’, called it an ‘honour’ and conveyed his gratefulness for PM’s support for the film industry.
Ranveer Singh was the only one who had a non-formal click and a similar caption for the post and how he gave the PM a ‘Jaadoo ki Jhappi!’ to convey his joy on meeting him.
Rohit Shetty captioned the selfie, ‘The Prime Minister’s Squad’ and wrote about the ‘cool feeling’ when the PM appreciated him for making films on the Police Force, referring to recent hit ‘Simmba.’
Vicky Kaushal was ‘humbled’ to be in the presence of the PM.
Bhumi Pednekar thanked the PM for his time for the meeting and called it a ‘moment to remember.’
Ayushmann Khurrana also thanked the PM for supporting the film industry.
Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari thanked the PM of ‘our beautiful India’ for the ‘interactive creative session.’ She posted about the meeting that 'takes storytelling to new heights', 'building a better society through our entertainment industry' and thanked the PM for the reduction in GST which will 'enhance the economics of movie making & also initiating a creative space to connect thoughts which are truly Indian for the world."
Apart from the pictures after the meeting, a picture of all the stars before they set off on their journey was also amazing and some other photographs were also shared on social media.
