Vicky Kaushal starrer 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' has wreaked havoc at the box office ever since its big release on January 11. Being hailed for its slick and realistic execution, the Aditya Dhar directorial has already become one of the most profitable medium budget films in recent years. Now, the 12th-day collections of the action film is here and it is clear that there is no stopping it.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has earned Rs 6.30 crore on Tuesday, which considering the fact that it is a weekday and almost two weeks after release is an incredible feat. When compared to Monday, the collections have dipped but only slightly as it minted Rs 6.82 crore on the previous day. With these impressive figures, the total money raked in by Uri has now reached a mind-blowing Rs 122.59 crore.
The film which also stars Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal and Kirti Kulhari also easily crossed the Rs 100 crore mark within the first 10 days of its release. By doing so it effectively beat films like 'Raazi', 'Badhaai Ho', 'Stree' and other such films from 2018 which took much longer to go past 100. In the meantime, the Aditya Dhar directorial has also been raking in the moolah overseas and it has proven that quality cinema truly has no regional boundaries.
'Uri: The Surgical Strike' is an ode to Indian Army's daring covert operation to destroy terrorist launchpads in PoK. The surgical strike was carried out as a retaliation to the terrorist attack on the Uri army base camp, where several unarmed soldiers lost their lives.
