The much-anticipated Bollywood venture 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' made its grand release on January 11, 2019, and the 'JOSH' is 'HIGH' in the theatres since then. Film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and revealed that the film has collected more than Rs 35 crores over the first weekend. The film which has shown a constant growth over the days and has collected Rs.15.10 crore on day 3. Announcing the news on Twitter, Adarsh wrote, "#UriTheSurgicalStrike emerges the FIRST HIT of 2019... Indeed, 2019 has started with high josh... Sets the BO on Day 3... 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' pays tribute to the Indian army and to a new India. It is based on the September 2016 attack by Pakistani terrorists on the Indian Army brigade HQ in Uri, J&K and subsequent Surgical Strike by Indian security forces on terror launchpads in Pakistan. The film stars Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, Kirti Kulhari, and Mohit Raina in the lead.
It features Vicky as an Indian soldier who leads the army for the mission. The film has received great reviews from the audience and critics as they have praised the film for its patriotic zeal.
