‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ has continued to create magic at the box office, even in its sixth week. It has now accomplished another feat, beating the highest domestic collections of a Shah Rukh Khan starrer.
Even after completing 25 days at the box office, which is a feat in itself in today's times, the war drama has been raking in more than Rs 1 crore every day. The film enjoyed another great weekend at the box office, going from Rs 1.20 crore on Friday to Rs 2.51 crore and Rs 3.21 crore on Saturday and Sunday.
On Monday, a weekday, again the Aditya Dhar directorial managed good collections of Rs 1.32 crore. With the Monday figures, ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ total collections stand at Rs 227.37 crore, which has surpassed ‘Chennai Express’ tally of Rs 227.13 crore.
The point to note here is that ‘Chennai Express’ is the highest domestic grosser for Shah Rukh in his entire career.
With all due respect to Vicky Kaushal, who is a known face today, but no one would’ve expected that a film without any ‘superstar’ would go on to beat a Shah Rukh film at the ticket windows.
'Uri: The Surgical Strike's latest achievement just proves how much the tremendous impact it has had on moviegoers.
The movie's next target would be Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’, which has collected around the Rs 232 crore and Ranveer Singh’s ‘Simmba’, which is at around Rs 240 crore.
