Varun Dhawan Has Salman Khan And ''Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' To Thank For Becoming An Actor

Varun Dhawan, who has worked with Salman Khan in two films, revealed an interesting anecdote related to 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' at the 20-year anniversary celebration.

It's rare for superstars to share screen space, but an established actor and a recent one, have already worked together in 'Judwaa 2' and are also set to feature together in 'Bharat' next year. And apart from their friendship, courtesy Salman's multiple hits with Varun's father David Dhawan, there's another common factor between the two. Salman was the reason why Varun decided to become an actor.

The actor made the revelation at the celebration of 20 years of 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hain' in Mumbai on Tuesday. Talking about his experience of watching his mentor Karan Johar's directorial debut, which features Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji, in a theatre, Varun said that Salman's entry song 'Saajanji Ghar Aaye' in the film is what inspired him to become an actor. He revealed the atmosphere in the cinema hall when the viewers went into raptures immediately on spotting the superstar on screen, and Varun desired to have a similar stardom for him as an actor. Salman, however, could not be present for the celebration as he is in Abu Dhabi for his next film 'Bharat'. The team wrapped the schedule on Tuesday. 

20 years of 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' was celebrated in grand style throughout the day. Karan Johar and his fans had shared pictures and their memories of the film on social media. Later in the day, there was a star-studded event where his lead trio, Shah Rukh, Kajol and Rani Mukerji reunited. Apart from the leads, Karan's close friend Kareena Kapoor Khan, who also celebrated her sixth wedding anniversary with Saif Ali Khan on the same day, latest proteges Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor, and his other 'student' Sidharth Malhotra were also seen. His third 'student' Alia Bhatt and 'Ae Dil Mushkil' actor Ranbir Kapoor were not present as they're in USA for Rishi Kapoor's medical treatment.

As far as 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' leads are concerned, Shah Rukh will next be seen in 'Zero', which releases on 21 December. Kajol's 'Helicopter Eela' released recently, while Rani Mukerji's hit 'Hichki' is doing good business in China.
