Varun Dhawan is one of the successful and bankable actors of his generation with an unbeatable track record at the box office. While he has proved his acting prowess in the past, stepping into Salman Khan’s shoes in the remake of his iconic film ‘Judwaa’ wasn’t going to be easy. Varun, however, rose to the occasion and ‘Judwaa 2’ went on to become one of the biggest hits of 2017. The film also marked the second collaboration of the father-son duo, Varun and his father David Dhawan.
The two had earlier worked together in ‘Main Tera Hero’ and if reports are to be believed, Varun and David will now take their collaboration a notch higher.
As per recent reports, Varun Dhawan along with his brother Rohit and dad David Dhawan is all set to launch their own production house. The 'No 1' series will reportedly be the first to be produced under their banner. According to reports, since their previous collaborations fared well at the box office, the Dhawans felt it was the right time to take the step.
Reports suggest that the company is in its initial planning stage and is slated for a launch in 2019 since Varun is currently busy with the schedule of Abhishek Varman’s period drama ‘Kalank’. Furthermore, the actor has also signed Remo D’souza’s dance film alongside Katrina Kaif. In addition to this, Varun Dhawan will also be seen in the Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Rannbhoomi’.
‘Kalank’ which also stars Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Aditya Roy Kapur. While talking about the film, Varun reportedly said that he is extremely excited about the film which marks his fourth collaboration with Alia Bhatt. ‘Kalank’ also marks Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit’s reunion on the big screen after 21 years. As per reports, the duo have already shot for some dramatic scenes together. Madhuri is reportedly prepping for a song which will be choreographed by Saroj Khan and Remo D’souza. The Karan Johar directorial is slated for a release on April 19, 2019.
Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan is currently awaiting the release of his next ‘Sui Dhaaga: Made in India’ alongside Anushka Sharma. The Sharat Katariya directorial is slated to release on September 28.
