After the raging success of 'Uri: The Surgical Strike', Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is all set to take up the role of a military officer in Meghna Gulzar's next. The film is based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Maneskshaw. The first look of the actor was recently shared and netizens were absolutely stunned to see the uncanny resemblance between Kaushal and Sam Manekshaw. And, although it gained rave reviews from audiences, there seem to be a few others who were left disappointed.
Syed Ata Hasnain, Lt Gen (Retd), Indian Army wasn't impressed by Vicky Kaushal's look and pointed out major inconsistencies between the real-life Maneskshaw's uniform and the reel-life uniform. "Would love it if consulted. Lt Gen Deepinder Singh, his MA, is there to give everything on him. Vicky Kaushal, for starters is wearing wrong colour badges of rank. Sam was a Gurkha, never wore brass, always black badges. I am proud to wear that too being a Garhwali Bhulla.", he wrote.
After the tweet was posted, it quickly went viral and many netizens jumped in support of the Retd. Indian Army officer. Read some reactions below:
Meanwhile, on the work front, it has been confirmed that actor-director-producer trio, Vicky Kaushal-Aditya Dhar-Ronnie Screwvala are reuniting on a film based on the mythological character Ashwatthama. The film is based on the character in the Mahabharata who was among the key figures representing Kauravas in the Kurukshetra War against the Pandavas. It goes without saying that Vicky will be playing the lead character.
