Vicky Kaushal posts a heartfelt note as 'Masaan' completes 4 years, Richa Chadha, Shweta Tripathi join

One of the most memorable roles of Vicky Kaushal that put him out in the spotlight was 'Masaan', released in 2015. The film also starred Shweta Tripathi and Richa Chadha in pivotal roles, and was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival winning two awards.

Celebrating four years of the release, Vicky Kaushal took to his Instagram handle to write a heartfelt note for 'Masaan', a film that gave Kaushal the recognition in the Bollywood industry. Vicky who plays the role of Deepak Kumar in the film, wrote how he used to spend hours sitting at the Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi, watching the 'bodies getting burnt one after the other.... turning into the same colour of ash'. He ended the note by saying, 'here's to 4 years of our beautiful friendship'.

Sharing the nostalgia, Richa Chadha and Shweta Tripathi also took to their social media handles and expressed their heart out as the film clocked 4 years. Take a look -

'Masaan' is a story based in the city of Varanasi. Devi, played by Richa Chadha, along with Deepak Kumar, played by Vicky Kaushal and Shaalu Gupta, played by Shweta Tripathi, explore the realities of death, life and casteism in the society. Two separate stories that eventually come together. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, the film received am overwhelming critical appreciation and was lauded by everyone in the mainstream media.
