Vicky Kaushal's 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' expected to enter the Rs.100 crore club soon, mints over Rs 78 crore on day 8

The much-anticipated action drama 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' is currently roaring at the box office as the film is expected to cross the Rs.100 Crore benchmark soon.

The much-anticipated action drama 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' is currently roaring at the box office. The film which has shown a constant growth over the days and has collected over Rs 78 crore on day 8 - Friday, January 18. The film which had bagged over Rs. 50 crores on day 5 itself and has still managed to retain its position at the Box office. Flim Critic Taran Adarsh confirmed the same and said that the film is soon expected to enter the 100 crore club. Adarsh further stated that the craze for the film is almost at par with Day 1, as it is beating the business of other films as it is still the first choice of moviegoers.

In a Twitter post, Adarsh wrote, "#UriTheSurgicalStrike is a force to reckon with at the BO... Remains the first choice of moviegoers, eclipsing the biz of all films [new and holdover titles]... Day 8 is almost at par with Day 1 ... [Week 2] Fri 7.60 cr. Total: ₹ 78.54 cr. India biz. #Uri #HowsTheJosh"

'Uri: The Surgical Strike' pays tribute to the Indian army and to a new India. It is based on the September 2016 attack by Pakistani terrorists on the Indian Army brigade HQ in Uri, J&K and subsequent Surgical Strike by Indian security forces on terror launchpads in Pakistan. The film stars Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, Kirti Kulhari, and Mohit Raina in the lead.
