After basking in the success of her last release 'Tumhari Sulu' for which she garnered immense praises, Vidya Balan has now started shooting for the much awaited Telugu film, the NTR Biopic. Reports suggest that the entire cast has started shooting for the film at Abids in Hyderabad where Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) resided in the 80s. The makers chose to shoot at the real location, in order to add credibility to 'NTR – the Biopic'. NTR's son Nandamuri Balakrishna will be seen playing the titular role in the film.
This film, in which Vidya Balan is playing the role of the role of NTR'S wife Basavatarakam, will mark the actress' debut in Telugu cinema. As per reports, veteran actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N T Rama Rao married Basavatarakami at the age of 20. Reports suggest that the details of the shoot were kept confidential. Even the cast and crew were not allowed to use mobile phones in the premises.
Rumours are rife that NTR's daughters and granddaughters visited NTR's old residence and also interacted with the cast and crew. Not only that, they also gifted a traditional South Indian saree to Vidya Balan. According to one of the producers Vishnu Induri, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao resided in Abids in the 80s and lived there house for almost 12 years before moving to Banjara Hills. The former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister had once attributed his success in politics to his old apartment.
The biopic also features Nandamuri Balakrishna as NTR, Rana Daggubati as Chandrababu Naidu, Rakul Preet Singh as superstar Sridevi and is helmed by Krish who recently wrapped Kangana's much-awaited period drama 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi'. Earlier Dharma Teja was on board to direct the biopic but due to a creative difference with Nandamuri Balakrishna, he opted out of the project. The Biopic is bilingual and will be released in Telugu and Hindi. Meanwhile, the music of the film will be composed by M. M. Keeravani and the film will be backed by Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati Ranganatha, and Vishnu Induri. The makers are planning to release the three-hour long biopic based on the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on Dussehra 2018.
