On October 19, the court proceeded the hearing. The Judge asked for the victim's (former employee of Phantom Films) presence in court to gain clarity on the matter. The victim's lawyer was present at court too, he revealed that the victim is still suffering despite the incident taking place in 2015 and hence is not willing to file a case against Vikas Bahl.

To this Vikas' lawyer stated that if the victim herself does not want to make a statement, then how can Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane defame his client. He further added that if the girl doesn't want to file a complaint then no one should make any statement against Vikas Bahl.

Anurag Kashyap's lawyer responded and said that in 2017 his client had asked the victim to give him a written complaint against Vikas but she failed to do so and that is why he could not take action.
