Vikas Bahl's Rs 10 Crore Defamation Case Against Anurag Kashyap And Vikramaditya Motwane Adjourned Till 21 November 2018

After Vikas Bahl was accused of sexual assault by a former employee of Phantom films, Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, who were co-partners with Vikas at the production house, supported the victim and the latter even went on to call the 'Queen' director a 'sex offender'. In response to this, Vikas Bahl filed a defamation lawsuit of Rs 10 crore against Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane and accused them of plotting against him.

According to ANI, Vikas Bahl’s defamation case against former partners Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane in the Bombay High Court has been adjourned till 21 November 2018. The court had initially proceeded the hearing on October 19. And during the hearing, the Judge had asked for the victim's (former employee of Phantom Films) presence in court to gain clarity on the matter. The victim's lawyer was present at court, he revealed that she is still suffering despite the incident taking place in 2015 and hence is not willing to file a case against Vikas Bahl.

To this Vikas' lawyer had stated that if the victim herself does not want to make a statement, then how can Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane defame his client. He further added that if the girl doesn't want to file a complaint then no one should make any statement against Vikas Bahl.

Due to the victim's absence in court, the case was adjourned till Tuesday, October 23, for further proceedings. But as per the latest updates, the Bombay High Court has further pushed the date to November 21, 2018. 

Vikas Bahl is one of the many personalities like Alok Nath, Rajat Kapoor, Anu Malik, Sajid Khan, Subhash Ghai, Karim Morani, Chetan Bhagat, Suhel Seth, Vinod Dua, and Nana Patekar among others that were caught in the whirlwind of the ongoing #Metoo movement. The movement has spread like wildfire in the country and victims who have faced the horrors of alleged sexual assault are coming forward to share their stories and expose their sexual predators.
