War Movie: Will the film prove to be Hrithik Roshan’s biggest BO hit?

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s latest release, War, has proved to be a smashing hit at the box office, not just in India but overseas as well. As per reports, War has already crossed the ₹ 200 crore mark. The Tamil and Telugu versions of the film also left a large impact on the audience, reportedly. War had the highest first-day collections for a Hindi film, according to box office inputs.

Will War be Hrithik Roshan’s biggest hit?

According to Box Office India, Hrithik Roshan’s biggest box office hit before War was Krrish 3, which reportedly collected over ₹ 244.92 crores. With the way War has been performing at the box office till now, it is expected to touch the ₹ 300 crore mark very soon. War has had a very comfortable ride at the box office as there were no big releases after the film.

War is likely to count as one of the highest-grossing films of 2019. It remains to be seen, however, whether Bollywood’s next lineup of big releases for 2019 like Housefull 4 and Dabangg 3 will be able to prove their mettle. Trade analysts have also commented on how War might see a dip as well since the holiday period is over.

War garnered over ₹ 51.60 crores on the first day itself. The Tamil and Telugu versions of the film collected over ₹ 53.35 crores as well. The film crossed the benchmark for the highest opening for any Hrithik Roshan movie. War was the highest opening for co-star Tiger Shroff and Yash Raj Films as well. The film opened in over 4000 screens in India.

At a press conference for War, Hrithik commented on how he feels blessed with two back-to-back hits in 2019. He expressed that he feels encouraged as an artist to do better work. Talking about his co-star Tiger Shroff, Hrithik said that he has much admiration and love for the person that Tiger is. He also said that working with a younger actor has been a learning experience for him as well.

War also stars Vaani Kapoor in an important role. The film is also Bang Bang! director Siddharth Anand's second collaboration with Hrithik. War follows the story of a mentor and protegee who turn against each other but then come together for a national mission. Fans of both the action heroes are flooding the theatres to watch their favourite actors battle it out.
