WATCH | ‘All work and no play...”: Deepika Padukone aces the perfect lay-up and not just Ranveer Singh, even NBA India is awestruck

It’s normal for children of famous celebrities to follow their parents’ profession and want to accomplish similar or bigger achievements. Deepika Padukone too did so and took on from her father Prakash Padukone, among most decorated badminton champions of our country. As a youngster, she took up the racquet and participated in numerous state-level competitions, before being caught by the lure of the glamour world. Though Deepika became a big Bollywood star, her badminton skills have been seen at various events previously.

However, that’s not the only sporting talent that the actress possesses. The ‘Om Shanti Om’ star recently posted a video of the perfect basketball lay-up and not just husband Ranveer Singh, but even the official Indian handle of the most popular basketball tournament in the world, NBA, was also impressed with her. 

Deepika on Tuesday shared an impressive video of her basketball skills, as she, in slow motion, runs and jumps to deliver the fine 2-pointer lay-up. The actress recently returned from a shooting schedule for Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Chhapaak’ and this, it seemed, was a way for her to chill out. Her caption, “All work and no play.........you get the drift!’ referring to the saying, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” seemed to indicate that.

Ranveer, known for dropping regular headline-grabbing comments on his wife’s posts, replied with  ‘BALLIN' and love-stuck emoticon. 

Even NBA India was impressed and commented ‘Slay the court’ with the 100 emoticon.

Not just badminton and basketball, Deepika is fairly good with the lawn tennis too, and a video of her playing with legendary Roger Federer a few years ago had gone viral. 

Sports is very much in the Padukone genes as even Deepika’s sister Anisha Padukone is a professional golfer.
